1989 - Played in 14 games, missing only the Houston game on 10-8 and the Atlanta game on 1-15 (first time in 169 NFL games that he missed a game due to injury)...threw a 15-yard option pass to John Stephens on 11-26 at the the LA Raiders (his second NFL career pass)...third on team in special teams tackles with 19 (12 solos), while also forcing a fumble vs. Buffalo on 11-9...is seventh on the club's all-time rushing list with 2,359 yards on 596 carries, with 18 TDs...has played in 179 games with the Patriots, the most by any active NE player and fourth on the team's all time list (needs five game to move past John Hannah's 183 games into third place and 13 games to move past Raymond Clayborn's 191 games into second place). 1988 -Had two TD runs - three-yarder vs. Cincinnati on 10-16 and one-yarder at Indy on 11-27...had 15 special teams tackles (five solos) while playing in all 16 games. 1987 - Team's third-leading rusher...started nine of the 12 non-strike games at fullback...threw first NFL pass vs. LA Raiders on 11-1, a 15 yard TD pass to Tony Collins. 1986 -Club's third leading rusher...started five games, inlcuding the final three regular season games...was NFL Alumni's Special Teams Player of the Year...the captain of the special teams, he was named to the Pro Bowl by his peers for his special teams play...selected to receive Unsung Hero Award by The Patriots' Huddle, one of the team's fan clubs...was Pro Football Weekly and UPI All-AFC and AP All-Pro...forced three fumbles on special teams. 1985 - Named team's Special Teams Player of Year by 1776 QB Fan Club after leading team in special teams tackles with 35...had three special teams tackles in the playoffs...chosen first alternate special teams player to the Pro Bowl...in third quarter of playoff game at LA Raiders on 1-5-86, forced fumble that Jim Bowman recovered in the end zone for a TD...in AFC title game at Miami on 1-12-86, forced fumble on second half kickoff. 1984 - Second leading rusher on squad...voted second alternate to the Pro Bowl...had 93 yards rushing on 22 carries vs. Cincinnati on 10-14. 1983 - Team's second leading rusher...had the NFL's top rushing average of 5.5 yards per carry (578 yards on 106 carries)...had career best game vs. NO on 12-4 when he rushed for 128 yards on 21 carries despite a snow-covered field...a week later in Anaheim, tied club record by rushing for three TDs in win over Rams...from 198 -83, rushed for 947 yards on 174 carries for an impressive 5.4 rushing average. 1982 - Third leading rusher on the team...while everyone except he and Mark van Eeghan were slipping and sliding on a snow-covered turf at Foxboro on 12-12, he used his low center of gravity and bullish power to plow through the Dolphins for 81 yards on 13 carries, including a 26 yard run. 1981 - Made first pro start against Houston on 10-18 and rushed for 64 yards on six carries, including a 43 yard run in which he broke no less than seven tackles. 1980 - Fifth leading rusher on team...at SF on 11-30, scored both NE TDs, the first two of his career.

Made four post-season bowl appearances while playing for USC...recorded 1,277 rushing yards and nine TDs on 223 career carries in addition to another 147 receiving yards on 19 receptions...his USC head coach, John Robinson, called him "the best blocking back at USC since Sam Cunningham."
