Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. Those advancing through preliminaries will be invited to participate in final auditionsscheduled for Saturday, March 16, 2013. An optional audition workshop will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Gillette Stadium in the Putnam Club West from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
  • Audition to become a cheerleader for the three-time Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots!
  • Perform for 70,000 fans during nationally televised games
  • Model for the Patriots Cheerleaders' annual swimsuit calendar
  • Enjoy possible international travel opportunities
  • Make public appearances throughout New England and support our communities' charitable organizations
  • Create memories that will last a lifetime!

Two unique opportunities are available:

Patriots Cheerleaders Dance Squad
The Patriots Cheerleaders dance squad is a group of dancers that performs at every home game. They are required to attend a minimum of two rehearsals per week. In addition to performing on the sidelines at all home games at Gillette Stadium, the Patriots Cheerleaders dance squad participates in public appearances throughout the community. The dance squad is also featured in the swimsuit calendar and squad poster. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and must be a high school graduate or have GED by the date of preliminary auditions in order to participate. No exceptions will be made.

Patriots Cheerleaders Promotional Model Squad
As part of our responsibility to the community and to our team partners, public and game day appearances are becoming an increasingly important squad role. Due to large volume of appearance requests we receive, we have assembled an elite squad for promotional appearances and event participation. A Patriots Cheerleader promotional model is a non-performing squad member specifically chosen for her specialization in, and availability for, public and game-day appearances. Promotional models must be outgoing, articulate and have flexible schedules. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and must be a high school graduate or have GED by the date of final auditions in order to participate. No exceptions will be made. Patriots Cheerleader promotional models are not required to attend practices but are required to attend Patriots home games. They are featured in the annual swimsuit calendar and squad poster. Promotional models are not required to attend the dance audition. Promotional model candidates should download the application form (questionnaire not necessary) from this site and complete. Photos, resumes and applications must be RECEIVED (not postmarked) at Gillette Stadium by February 11, 2013. Resumes should outline educational and occupational background and any community service, public speaking and modeling experience you may have. Photos can be color or black and white and must be size 5 x 7 or larger. One full-length and one headshot should be included as well as one candid photo which has had no photo retouching done. Photos can reflect any type of outfit you choose; jeans, business attire, formal, swimwear, fitness apparel - it’s your choice. Photos and resumes will not be returned. A $10.00 processing fee will be required for promotional model registrants. Checks or money orders should be made payable to New England Patriots and cash will not be accepted. Please send application, resumes, photos and check or money orders to:
Patriots Cheerleaders
Attention: Tracy Sormanti

One Patriot Place
Foxboro, MA 02035

Candidates will be notified as to whether or not they have been selected for an interview. Again, this ONLY applies to promotional model candidates. If you are auditioning for the dance squad, you should not mail your application, resume or photos in advance.

Note: Each dancer that advances through the preliminary audition round will have a half hour personal interview and will compete in final auditions. Promotional models who are selected for an interview will be notified within a week after their interview if they have been selected to participate in final auditions.

PRELIMINARY AUDITION

General Information and requirements
Download Application | Download Questionaire

Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and must be a high school graduate or have GED by the date of preliminary auditions in order to participate. No exceptions will be made. Please bring a driver's license or government issued ID. There is no maximum age limit and we do not have a height requirement. Preliminary auditions will be held on one day only. If you are unable to attend that day, there will not be a make-up date scheduled. We do not accept videotapes in lieu of auditioning. As preliminary auditions will not be open for public viewing, guests will not be permitted into the audition facility. www.gillettestadium.com for directions and follow directional signage once on the property.

You should wear fitted work-out attire and sneakers or dance shoes for the audition. Be sure to bring warm-ups as it will get cool during the waiting periods. A neat and polished appearance is best. Your hair and make-up should be "performance" ready. Think "glamour" rather than "sporty." Your outfit should complement your figure. You should also bring plenty to drink and a healthy lunch. Upon arrival, participants will be asked to submit a $20.00 registration fee and complete an application form, questionnaire and participation waiver. It is suggested that you complete the application and questionnaire in advance by downloading the forms from this site. Then, you can simply bring them with you the day of auditions. Try-out numbers will be assigned as candidates turn in their forms. Candidates should also bring a resume and a current photograph. The resume should outline performance, employment and educational background and any other interesting information e.g., hobbies, special talents. The photograph can be color or black and white, size 5X 7 or larger, and can be a headshot or a full length photo. Any type of apparel in the photo is fine. Resumes and photographs will not be returned.

Participants will be taught choreographed dance combinations and will be given an opportunity to perform a freestyle combination (music will be determined on the day of preliminaries). Several tabulations will be made throughout the day and approximately 40+ dancers will be selected to participate in the final round set for two weeks later. Each dancer advancing to finals will schedule a half hour personal interview with the cheerleader director at Gillette Stadium at a mutually convenient date and time prior to final auditions.

2013 Optional Audition Workshop (Register Now)

Once again the Patriots Cheerleaders will host an optional one-day audition workshop at Gillette Stadium in the Putnam Club West in Foxboro, MA. The purpose of the workshop is to better prepare participants for the upcoming audition process. Please note that attendance at this clinic is not required to audition, nor does it guarantee a position on the squad. A great deal of information will be shared, however, that will lead to better overall scores as well as an improved understanding of what it takes to make the squad and what to look forward to if you do!

This workshop is open to participants only..Guests will not be permitted inside the event facility. Upon your arrival, you will be required to sign a waiver prior to your participation. After a brief registration process, a group warm-up will be conducted. Next, you will be taught dance choreography which will different from the routines you will learn at preliminary auditions but will familiarize you with the style and level of dance ability that is expected of squad members. We will also review the high kick and free style categories of the audition process.

The next segment of the program will include a very detailed discussion regarding the agenda for audition days, judging criteria, proper attire, hair and makeup suggestions, resume and photo requirements, and most importantly, some tips on how to have an outstanding interview. You will also be informed on what to expect should you be selected for the 2013 cheerleading squad including information on rehearsals, personal appearances, photo shoots, game days, travel opportunities, etc. The discussion will end with a Q&A segment.

You should wear fitted workout attire and sneakers or dance shoes. Your outfit should complement your figure and your hairstyle and makeup should be worn to flatter your appearance as well. Although you won't be judged during this event, remember that first impressions are lasting and you want to feel and look your best. Be sure to bring plenty to drink and a healthy lunch. Remember to bring a note pad and pen for the discussion session.

Each person attending the clinic will receive a panoramic poster of the 2012 Patriots Cheerleading Squad. The most important material you'll take home with you will be practical and valuable information on the audition process,.

What to expect if you make the squad!

Those being selected for the 2013 Patriots Cheerleading dance squad will be required to attend two rehearsals each week, held at Gillette Stadium. These practices are generally held on Tuesday evenings (7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.) and Saturdays or Sundays (full day, usually 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.), from March through September. From October through season-end, practices will be generally held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, leaving weekends free for promotional opportunities. Please note that there may be variations in that schedule as Gillette Stadium is a multi-use facility, requiring some scheduling flexibility. Patriots Cheerleaders do not perform at away games but perform at all 10 home games at Gillette Stadium, as well as any home playoff games and possibly the Super Bowl, should the Patriots play in that game. Patriots Cheerleaders are part-time employees of the organization and are compensated state minimum wage for practices, games and appearances with larger promotional stipends for select events. Patriots Cheerleaders promotional squad members will not be required to attend all rehearsals but should remain available for promotional appearances and games.

The Patriots Cheerleaders typically travel to an exotic location for their annual swimsuit calendar. The squad will receive many other benefits, which may include complimentary hair services, tanning and dentistry services. International travel opportunities may be presented as well. Patriots Cheerleaders have appeared on many local and national television shows. The ladies have appeared in national publications such as Sports Illustrated, Muscle and Fitness, Maxim, FHM (U.S. and China publications) and Men's Style. Cheerleaders have made personal appearances throughout the United States and have entertained U.S. military troops stationed in more than 25 countries since 9/11. The Patriots Cheerleaders have made six trips to China to promote the NFL and to train Chinese dancers and cheerleaders for the Olympic Games in Beijing. Travel out of New England and appearances for corporate and charitable organizations are cast based on individual availability. Thanks for your interest in auditioning for the Patriots Cheerleading squad. Good luck, have fun, cheers and see you on the sidelines!
