Patriots Win Over Titans Draws Highest Local Ratings for Sunday Opener in Franchise History
Sunday’s game was the third highest-rated regular season opener in franchise history and is only surpassed by the Monday Night Football 2011 opener at the Miami Dolphins (37.1 household rating) and the Monday Night Football 2009 opener against the Buffalo Bills (35.1 household rating).
The 2012 season opener drew a household share of 60, meaning that on average 60 percent of all televisions in the Boston market between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. ET were tuned in to the Patriots on Sunday. This weekend’s game was the highest rated program across all demographics during the week of Sept. 3 to Sept. 9.
This week, the Patriots will host the Arizona Cardinals in their home opener on Sunday, Sept. 16. The game will be broadcast to a regional FOX audience with Dick Stockton and John Lynch calling the game. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET and will air locally on WFXT (25) in Boston and WNAC (11) in Providence.
