Analysis: Deaderick released
The opinions, analysis and/or speculation expressed on Patriots.com represent those of individual authors, and unless quoted or clearly labeled as such, do not represent the opinions or policies of the New England Patriots organization, front office staff, coaches and executives. Authors' views are formulated independently from any inside knowledge and/or conversations with Patriots officials, including the coaches and scouts, unless otherwise noted.
However, that wasn’t enough to stick around, apparently, as the Patriots released the young veteran Monday. Perhaps this is an indication that free agent signings Tommy Kelly and Armond Armstead are being viewed as more viable options at that position for the team in 2013.
In addition to Deaderick, practice squad wide receiver Andre Holmes was let go Monday. In their places, New England signed a pair of offensive linemen: guard Tyronne Green, a veteran of four prior NFL seasons (all with San Diego), and rookie R.J. Mattes, who played both guard and tackle at North Carolina State.
