Cuban Sandwich Recipe
French bread, buttered and grilled
3-4 lb boneless pork shoulder
4 cloves garlic, smashed
1/4 cup oregano
4 Tbsp salt
1 Tbsp pepper
3 Tbsp vegetable oil
2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
Dill pickle slices
Red onion pickles
Spicy aioli sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup whole grain mustard
1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
1 Tbsp smoked paprika
Mix the garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, oil and vinegar in a bowl. Score the pork and then rub it with the mixture. If you can, allow it to soak overnight.
Bake the pork fat-side up at 375 degrees for 2.5 to 3 hours.
Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing it.
Layer the ham, cheese and pork on the bread. Top with aioli sauce, dill slices and red onion pickles. Read
