FRY BREAD TACOS RECIPE
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- Vegetable oil
- Grilled chicken, sliced
- Guacamole (get the recipe here)
Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Mix well, add warm water and stir until a ball of dough begins to form. On a lightly floured surface, knead the dough until it becomes soft, but be careful not to over-work it. Place it in a bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Remove dough. Pull off baseball-size pieces and then roll them out on a lightly floured surface until they're about ¼ inch thick. Poke a small hole in the middle of each piece to ensure it will fry flat.
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Place pieces of dough in the oil. Once golden brown on one side, flip the dough and cook the opposite side.
Serve warm, topped with chicken and guacamole. Read
