GO TO THE GAME
New York is an easy weekend away for New Englanders, and with tickets still available for Sunday's game, it's not too late to join the Patriots on their road trip. For information, call 800-469-5387 or visit www.newyorkjets.com. On game day, don't forget to follow @MLStadium on Twitter to find out about giveaways, contests and other things happening at MetLife Stadium.
WATCH
Soak up the atmosphere at Redd's (317 Washington Ave., Carlstadt, N.J.; 201-933-0015; www.reddsrestaurant.com), which is located just a short walk from the stadium. This restaurant and bar hosts an outdoor tailgate party for all Jets games, so you can enjoy food, drinks, games and giveaways before settling in to watch the action or heading over to the stadium. If you're not going to the game, there are a few New England-centric bars in the city where you're sure to find yourself among fellow Patriots fans. Try Professor Thom's (219 Second Ave.; 212-260-9480; www.professorthoms.com), Riviera Café and Sports Bar (225 W. Fourth St.; 212-929-3250; www.rivieracafeny.com), or Tir na nOg Times Square (315 W. 39th St.; 212-760-0072; www.tirnanognyc.com), which isn't technically a Boston bar but usually hosts members of Patriots Nation on game days.
EAT
New York City is a food lover's paradise, but you don't even have to leave the area around the stadium to get a good meal. Highly regarded Italian restaurant Sorrento (132 Park Ave., East Rutherford; 201-507-0093; www.sorrentoristorantenj.com) is just five minutes away. This BYOB establishment serves authentic, homemade dishes, with a selection of pasta, meats and fish on the menu. In the mood for Asian instead? Try Tina Louise (403 Hackensack St., Carlstadt, N.J; 201-933-7133; www.villagerestaurantgroup.com), another local BYOB restaurant, which Zagat describes as a "friendly" locale with "unexpected flavors." Or, treat yourself to a brick-oven pizza at Vesta (64 Hoboken Road, East Rutherford, N.J.; 201-939-6012; www.vestapizzeria.com), a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence winner for 2014.
SLEEP
The Hampton Inn at the Meadowlands (304 Paterson Plank Road, Carlstadt, N.J.; 201-935-9000; www.meadowlandshampton.com) is ideally located for fans going to the game. It's within walking distance of MetLife Stadium (but also has a shuttle), offers free breakfast and is just five minutes away from New York City. The stadium also recommends Fairfield Executive Inn Best Western Plus (216 U.S. Highway 46 E. Fairfield, N.J.; 973-575-7700; www.bwfei.com), which has a number of amenities, including a heated indoor pool and fitness center. Alternatively, you can choose to stay in the city, where you'll find just about every type of accommodation, whether it's a casual Airbnb or a luxurious five-star hotel you're after. New York's official tourism website, nycgo.com, is a good place to start.
