As part of Patriots Lifestyle’s new recipe section, we’re asking fans everywhere to share their best game day foods. Ally Koss of Boston, Mass., wrote in with this super sweet recipe for football cookie dough dip, which is adapted from baking blog www.ericasweettooth.com.
Ally told us, “Everyone loves cookie dough and fun, sharable dishes during games, so a spreadable cookie dough football is always a big hit! It's quick and easy to make and doesn't require any baking. Just mix in some blue and red sprinkles to add a Patriots flair.”
We love the sound of that!
FOOTBALL COOKIE DOUGH RECIPE
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
1 cup whipped cream (Ally recommends Cool Whip)
1 cup mini chocolate chips
Sprinkles (red and blue for the dough and chocolate for the coating)
Colored icing for decoration (optional)
Beat melted butter, sugars and vanilla until smooth. With the mixer on low, add flour and salt until just incorporated. Add half of the whipped cream until combined, then fold in the remainder. Add mini chocolate chips and colored sprinkles as desired.
Drop mixture onto a platter and form into a football shape. Then coat with chocolate sprinkles and decorate with icing.
Serve with sweet or savory snacks.
