The draft is set to get underway tonight but the Patriots don't figure to be a big part of it – at least initially. New England is currently without picks in the first two rounds so it would take a significant trade for Bill Belichick to jump into the action on Thursday night.

ESPNBoston.com doesn't see it as a problem because they say the team already made its first-round pick … Brandin Cooks. The Boston Herald agrees and doesn’t feel the Patriots even need a draft this year.

The Boston Globe believes there’s a lot of uncertainty surrounding the first round of this year's draft. The Herald offers five things to watch for in the draft. The Patriot Ledger says there will be a lot of waiting around for the Patriots.

The Herald also looks at a possible hidden gem out of Villanova as well as some other edge rushers who might be available. CSNNE.com says a tight end out of Iowa might make sense. They offer some other options they feel would be prototypical Patriots.
