Patriots and their super, alter egos

In honor of Super Hero Day, we're examining the double lives of some of your Patriots.

The leader of the crew, Super GOAT is steady, consistent and the greatest super hero to ever fly around. His focus and determination in high pressure situations give him his edge, and though he may not be as fast as Speed Reader or Sweet Feet, his leadership, precision and passion make him invincible.

Rob Gronkowski – The Gronk

The Gronk is a creature not of this earth. While some may call him a monster because he terrorizes villains with his strength and tenacity, his heart is gold. He'll spike everything in sight, but he's always there to save the day.

James White – Sweet Feet

Super Bowl Champions are super-human in their own right, and Super Bowl LI was a perfect hero story for the Patriots. Just when it seemed like all was lost, the team channeled their super powers, united and the comeback that once seemed impossible happened.

The triumph is the stuff of Batman, Superman, The Avengers and everything in between, so on Super Hero Day, we decided to take a look at the alter egos that help the Patriots defeat the villains and soar to victory.

Devin McCourty – Captain Swag

With a t-shirt collection so fierce, Captain Swag has the ability to stop evildoers with a single stylish cotton tee. Whether it's a cartoon or an epic photo, Captain Swag is no match for any opponent.

Malcolm Mitchell – Speed Reader

Speed Reader can dash through a novel as quickly as he can run down the field. He uses his knowledge and his quick moves to be one step ahead of villains -- both physically and mentally.

Julian Edelman – Flying Squirrel

The Flying Squirrel is quick, smart and known to always catch his acorns. Whenever a goat named Tom slings acorns his way, The Flying Squirrel leaps into the air to grab it. Even if the refs review it, he always hangs on.

Sweet Feet, a distant relative of The Flash, is able to cut and sprint past defenders. His special abilities excel him and his team to victory in the most dire situations.

Shea McClellin – Jump Man

Leaps and bounds ahead of all evil, Jump Man can hurdle people (and probably a skyscraper or two) to ensure good prevails.

When all is said and done, your Patriots are super. Whether it is Super Bowl or super hero, they always fight to the end and do their jobs.
