As for places to eat, Miami is full of hip restaurants and legendary eats.
For breakfast, look no further than The Salty Donut. The donut shop is a gourmet treat, and while they have their staple flavors, there is a rotating weekly menu to spice things up. Donut lovers can feast on flavors like maple bacon, Nutella, guava and cheese, and dark chocolate caramel cheesecake. Make sure to get to The Salty Donut early, as their popular items often sell out.
When in Miami, getting your fill of Cuban food is a must. Puerto Sagua is a no frills, authentic Cuban restaurant that is a staple for locals. You also can't go wrong at La Carreta for your fix of Cuban food.
For those always on the hunt for a city's best pizza, check out Lucali. Don't let the simple menu deceive you. The pizza is a must-try. If you're in the mood for a sandwich and want to enjoy the Miami weather, head over to La Sandwicherie. You can grab a seat at an outdoor counter and eat some of the best sandwiches in the city. And La Sandwicherie is open from 8 a.m. to 5 a.m., so any time the craving strikes, you have a place to turn. 405 Deli is another spot for a quick sandwich, and its bakery makes bread daily which is delivered and sold around the city, so you know it's good.
Since the weather will feel like summer for those traveling from New England, it's a nice excuse to enjoy some ice cream while strolling through the city. Azucar Ice Cream Company is an iconic spot to get a sweet treat. While Azucar has the typical flavors you'd expect at an ice cream shop, it specializes in the unexpected with flavors like a margarita sorbet, egg nog, caramel flan and olive oil, orange zest and dark chocolate.
