News Blitz 12/28: James Harrison expects to play

The newest Patriot was in the locker room at Gillette Stadium and joined his teammates at practice for the first time, but veteran linebacker James Harrison did not speak to the media on Wednesday.
Harrison did speak to a reporter in Pittsburgh, however, and he indicated that he is expecting to play in the season finale against the Jets.
Adding talented veterans late in the season is nothing new for the Patriots says ESPN.com. Some of Harrison’s former teammates in Pittsburgh weren’t too happy with the events of the last several days. The Boston Globe says Harrison asked the Steelers to release him on three occasions. Also, the Harrison signing is a continuation of the team’s mercenary makeup.
The Boston Globe says the first order of business in securing home-field advantage. The Boston Herald says Rob Gronkowski deserves the All-Pro nod he needs in order to trigger his contract incentive. NBC Sports Boston agrees. The Herald says the cornerbacks need a boost heading into the playoffs. Tom Brady missed practice on Wednesday but is expected to play Sunday. Dion Lewis earned AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors.

ESPN.com says Gronkowski doesn’t just make amazing catches in games. Like Randy Moss back in the day, the tight end dazzles his teammates in practice as well.
