*Amendola had six receptions for 71 yards, including his 26-yard touchdown, in the first two series of the game.

*QB Tom Brady completed his first 11 passes of the game. Brady set a personal best and a Super Bowl record when he completed 16 straight pass completions against the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLVI .The previous Super Bowl record was by Joe Montana, who had 13 straight pass completions in Super Bowl XXIV.

*Brady played the first two series of the game before being relieved by Ryan Mallett. He finished the game 11-of-12 for 107 yards and one touchdown.

*Brady has completed 18-of-20 passes for 172 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in two preseason games.

*First-year RB James Develin was in the starting lineup at fullback. Develin spent most of last season on the New England practice squad and four weeks on the 53-man roster and appeared in one game on special teams vs. San Francisco on Dec. 16.

*Rookie TE Zach Sudfeld scored on a 2-point pass from Brady after the Patriots first score. Sudfeld scored on a 22-yard touchdown pass from QB Ryan Mallet in the second quarter.

*QB Ryan Mallett entered the game for the third offensive series and played the rest of the first half. He finished 12-of-20 for 137 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown pass to TE Zach Sudfeld.

* Third-round draft pick CB Logan Ryan intercepted Tampa Bay QB Mike Glennon and returned the ball 53 yards for a touchdown. In 2012, the Patriots returned two interceptions for touchdowns when Aqib Talib returned a pick 59 yards for a touchdown and Alfonzo Dennard returned a pick 87 yards for a touchdown, both in the 59-24 win vs. Indianapolis on Nov. 18, 2012.

*QB Tim Tebow played the entire second half.

*DL Rob Ninkovich was the long snapper on K Stephen Gostkowski’s 39-yard field goal in the second quarter. Ninkovich spent the 2009 offseason with New Orleans trying to make the team as a long snapper before being cut by the Saints and being signed by New England.

*LB Brandon Spikes finished with two sacks. He has registered one sack in his first three NFL seasons.
