News Blitz 3/25: Sources say Wilfork cleaned out Patriots locker

Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald reports that Vince Wilfork asked for his release and grabbed his belongings from his locker after initial discussions with the Patriots about restructuring his contract.

"According to two sources, an angry Wilfork ripped his name plate off his locker stall, and cleaned out his locker," writes Guregian. "That's how Big Vince felt about the proceedings. Naturally, time and distance can change perspective, but Wilfork seemed convinced he was done in New England." READ MORE>>

Ron Borges of the Boston Herald reports that free agent WR Kenny Britt won't be signing with the Patriots.

"We won’t be signing him,” said Patriots owner Robert Kraft yesterday at the NFL Owner's Meetings, according to Borges. "That won’t happen." READ MORE>>

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Patriots are one of four teams interested in signing free agent running back Maurice Jones-Drew.

"The Daily News has learned that the Jets, Patriots, Dolphins and Steelers are in the hunt to land veteran running back Maurice Jones-Drew," writes Mehta. "The teams are expected to meet with the Jones-Drew camp at league meetings this week." READ MORE>>

Tom E. Curran of CSNNE.com reports that the Patriots are not interested in Maurice Jones-Drew, contrary to the reports that circulated Monday.
