John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports via Twitter that the Texans will not be trading for Ryan Mallett. That would leave Houston with veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick and rookie Tom Savage as the team's only quarterback options heading into the season.

Peter King of Sports Illustrated doesn't believe trading for Ryan Mallett is the solution to any team's quarterback problem.
"I realize he was a tempting prospect in 2011 out of Arkansas," writes King. "He may well be a very good NFL quarterback. But I certainly wouldn’t pay much for him, and if I brought him to camp all I would do is hope that he could compete for a roster spot and push the starter." READ MORE>>
