Patriots set another franchise ratings record for Week 5

Posted Oct 13, 2011

The New England Patriots set a new organizational Week 5 household (HH) television rating record for the Designated Market Area (DMA) of Boston/Manchester. New England has now set new organizational television HH ratings record in four-out-of-five weeks this season.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Patriots set a new organizational Week 5 household (HH) television rating record for the Designated Market Area (DMA) of Boston/Manchester. New England has now set new organizational television HH ratings record in four-out-of-five weeks this season.

The Patriots (4-1) defeated their AFC East rivals, the New York Jets (2-3), at a sold out Gillette Stadium, the 185th consecutive sellout at home, by a score of 30-21. The game received a strong HH rating of 31.08 and a 61 percent HH share of the designated market area, eclipsing the 2008 Week 5 HH record of 30.70 which was set on the road at San Francisco. Furthermore, Sunday's broadcast received a peak of 38.07 HH rating during the final minutes of the game.

The 61 percent HH share tied a season high for the Patriots. The Patriots drew a 61 percent share during their Week 2 home victory against the San Diego Chargers and now have recorded HH shares between 56 to 61 percent throughout the first five weeks.

The Dallas Cowboys come to Gillette Stadium for the first time since 2003 on Sunday, October 16 for a 4:15 scheduled kickoff against the Patriots. Head coach Bill Belichick is 2-0 during his career against Dallas since joining the Patriots in 2000. The game can be viewed regionally across the country on Fox or locally on WFXT in the Boston region.
