Greg A. Bedard of The Boston Globe takes a look at the current Patriots roster after a frenzy of free agent moves over the past week. Bedard writes that positions that are still light on numbers include running back, defensive end, cornerback and safety, with the latter two possibly being addressed in the draft. He also comments on all of the individual free agent signings to date, and calls the Brandon Lloyd signing a "smart pickup because the Patriots now have an X receiver who can a) catch and b) knows the offense."
Ian R. Rapoport of The Boston Herald writes that the Denver Broncos -- and new quarterback Peyton Manning -- will face the Patriots in Foxboro next season. "Considering how many classic games they have had, I will join football fans everywhere in celebrating the rivalry's return."
Kirk Minihane of WEEI.com gives his stance on the Tebow-to-New England rumors. Minihane believes Tebow may be worth looking at if he could be used at a position of need -- on either side of the ball. He writes, "I think the Dolphins or Jaguars would be crazy to make Tebow their quarterback of the future. But the Patriots would be crazy not to call Elway and see what it would take for Tebow to come to New England."
Jeff Howe of NESN.com reports on WR Donte Stallworth's reunion with the New England Patriots. After speaking with the newly-signed free agent on Monday, Stallworth told NESN.com, "I'm smiling ear to ear. I'm very glad to be back -- very, very glad." Stallworth caught 46 passes for 697 yards and three touchdowns during his only season with the Patriots in 2007. "Whatever my role is, I want to fulfill it and more," Stallworth said. "Whatever my role ends up, I just want to exceed that and play my best ball I've played in my career."
