Greg A Bedard of The Boston Globe compiles a list of the top defensive line prospects in the 2012 NFL Draft. Many experts predict the Patriots to use one of their early-round draft picks on a defensive lineman, with many players being linked to the team in recent weeks. Bedard ranks Mississippi State's Fletcher Cox at the top of his list: "Elite size, strength, and speed. Can play inside, or outside at end. Very quick first step. Equally adept at rushing or run-stuffing. Had 14 1/2 tackles for losses and five sacks last season. Long arms (34 1/2 inches). Has blocked field goal attempts. Little raw. Needs to work on technique."
Karen Guregian of The Boston Herald writes that the Patriots have drafted more All-Pro players than any other NFL team over the past 10 years, according to a Cleveland Plain Dealer report. Bill Belichick and his staff have selected a total of 15 All-Pros between 2002 and 2011, while also sporting the best record in the NFL over the same period of time.
Christopher Price of WEEI.com writes that University of Miami wide receiver Tommy Streeter and Oklahoma State safety Markelle Martin have made pre-draft visits to Foxborough, according to reports. Both players could be targeted starting in the second round.
