While most of the NFL world is focused on the draft, there are still chances for teams to augment their roster with veteran free agents.
According to ESPN, add former Tampa Bay Pro Bowl guard Davin Joseph to the list of free agents that the Patriots have visited with in recent weeks.
Joseph is a veteran of eight NFL seasons as a former first-round pick with the Bucs, having played in 100 games with 99 starts. He missed the entire 2012 season with a knee injury, but returned to start all 16 games in Tampa Bay a year ago.
Joseph made the Pro Bowl in both 2008 and 2011. His talents earned him a lucrative contract, but that deal played a part in his release by the Bucs this spring with him set to earn $6 million this year.
Though there are questions about Joseph’s level of play at this point, he might offer nice veteran competition for a guy like returning starting right guard
