Woodhead to Chargers

Danny Woodhead is now a Charger. San Diego confirmed the signing, for two years, which was reported moments ago.

Woodhead, another of New England’s 18 free agents this offseason, became expendable with the signing of veteran Leon Washington this week. Both are similar in size and skill set as third-down backs, with Washington being the more proven kick return specialist – an area of need for the Patriots heading into 2013.
