2007 (14/9/0/2):  Made his Patriots debut in a 38-14 win over the New York Jets, his former team, in the season opener on Sept. 9... Grabbed his first touchdown reception in a Patriots uniform on a 1-yard pass from Tom Brady in the third quarter of the Patriots' 48-27 victory over the Cowboys on October 14, 2007.

at N.Y. Jets (9/9):  Started at tight end as the Patriots opened the game in a two tight end set... Did not record a reception. San Diego (9/16):  Saw limited action at tight end in the Patriots' 38-14 win over the Chargers... Did not record a reception.  Buffalo (9/23): Started his second game of the season as the Patriots opened the game in a two tight end set in their 38-7 win over the Bills...  Hauled in his first reception in a Patriots uniform with a 20-yard strike from Tom Brady in the second quarter that helped to set up a Randy Moss touchdown that made the score 17-7 in New England's favor.  at Cincinnati (10/1): Played in a reserve role at tight end... Provided several key blocks that helped Sammy Morris finish with 117 yards rushing, the second 100-yard rushing game of his career.  Cleveland (10/7):  Made his third start of the season at tight end... 2006 (16/14 - Jacksonville): Played in all 16 games for the ninth time in his career and for the sixth in the last seven seasons ... Started 14 contests and finished with five receptions for 37 yards ... Had four kickoff returns for 18 yards.
  • Collected a reception in four consecutive games (12/3 at Miami - 12/24 vs. New England).
  • Played a major role in the Jaguars setting a single-season franchise record for rushing yards with 2,541, shattering the previous high of 2,102 yards in 1998.

2005 Season

2005 (16/14, 1/1 - Jacksonville): Ranked sixth on the team with 18 receptions for 157 yards and one touchdown ... Played in all 16 games for the eighth time in his career and for the fifth time in the last six seasons.
  • Scored his only touchdown of the season at Tennessee (11/20) while recording three receptions for 43 yards.
  • Made his 150th career start at tight end at Arizona (11/27).
  • Caught a season-high five passes for 43 yards against Indianapolis (12/11).

2004 Season

2001 (16/16 - Jacksonville): Started all 16 games for first time as a Jaguar ... Finished third on team with 36 receptions for 386 yards and two touchdowns ... Was one of seven players on offense to start every game.
  • Recorded touchdown catches vs. Buffalo (10/18) and at Tennessee (11/4).
  • Collected 21 catches in season's final seven games.
  • Grabbed a season-high five receptions for 51 yards against Kansas City (12/30).

2000 Season

2000 (16/15 - Jacksonville): Had his most-productive season of his career, with 64 receptions for 729 yards, doubling his previous career highs in both categories ... Also had one two-point conversion for the second straight year ... His reception total ranked sixth among NFL tight ends, behind Kansas City's Tony Gonzalez (93), San Diego's Freddie Jones (71), Tennessee's Frank Wycheck (70), Philadelphia's Chad Lewis (69) and Baltimore's Shannon Sharpe (67). Broke the Jaguars' record for catches and yards by a tight end set by Pete Mitchell in 1996 (52 for 575 yards) ... Averaged 11.4 yards per catch and scored three touchdowns.
  • Named to USA Today's All-Joe team, which recognizes players who are overlooked or ignored, the hard-working "guys named Joe."
  • Tied his then career-high with five receptions twice in season's first six games, then broke out with backto- back games of eight catches for 111 yards against Washington (10/22) and 10 catches for 138 yards and one touchdown at Dallas (10/29), becoming the Jaguars' only tight end ever with successive 100-yard games.

1999 Season

1999 (13/12, 2/1 - Jacksonville): Finished third on team with 32 receptions for 346 yards and one touchdown in first season in Jacksonville ... Also scored on a two-point conversion ... Started 12 of 13 games played, missing three with a knee injury ... As Jets' transition player, signed offer sheet with Jaguars on Feb. 16.
  • Had a season-high five receptions in his first game against his former team, the N.Y. Jets (10/11), to lead the Jaguars in receiving for the first time.
  • Scored his first touchdown as a Jaguar on a pass from Jay Fiedler against Cleveland (10/17). Added a two-point conversion reception from Fiedler for the second one of his career.
  • Gained a then-career-high 65 yards on four receptions at Baltimore (11/28) before leaving the game in the third quarter with an injury.
  • Started in two tight-end set in the AFC Championship game against Tennessee (1/23) and had postseasonbest five catches for 44 yards, including the first playoff touchdown of his career.

1998 Season

1998 (16/16, 2/2 - N.Y. Jets): Finished his fourth and final season in New York with 30 receptions for 315 yards (10.5 avg.) and five touchdowns, all career highs with the team ... Started all 16 games for third straight year.
  • Had the first multiple touch down game of his career at New England (10/19), catching two scoring passes from Vinny Testaverde. Tied his then career-high with five catches against the Patriots.
  • Snared a clutch 20-yard touchdown catch at Kansas City (11/1) to tie the game 17-17 in the fourth quarter.
  • Caught one pass for 17 yards against Jacksonville in the Divisional Playoffs (1/10) ... Finished the playoffs with three receptions for 28 yards.

1997 Season

1997 (16/14 - N.Y. Jets): Started all 16 games for the second straight year, catching 22 passes for 238 yards (10.8 average) and two touchdowns.
  • Grabbed two receptions for 29 yards and an 18-yard touchdown against the Miami Dolphins (11/9).
  • Hauled in three receptions for a season-best 37 receiving yards against the Buffalo Bills (11/30).

1996 Season

1996 (16/16 - N.Y. Jets): Started all 16 games for the first time in his career, one of only eight Jets to do so in 1996 ... Caught 15 passes for 144 yards and one touchdown.
  • Scored his lone touchdown of the season on an 11-yard catch in the season finale against the Miami Dolphins (12/22).

1995 Season

1995 (15/11 - N.Y. Jets): Played in 15 games, making 11 starts, and tied for fifth on the team in receptions and receiving yardage with 26 catches for 252 yards and two touchdowns ... Selected in the first round of the draft, the ninth player taken overall and the first tight end.
  • Made his first NFL start in the season opener at Miami (9/3) and caught three passes for 39 yards.
  • Had his best game of the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars (9/17) with five receptions for 48 yards, scoring on a 20-yard touchdown pass from Boomer Esiason.

College

A two-time All-Big Ten selection and consensus All-America choice as a senior in 1994 ... Helped lead his team to an undefeated season, a Big Ten championship and school's first-ever Rose Bowl victory as a senior ...
