Ask any Nittany Lion who their funniest teammate is and Rich Ohrnberger's name likely is to come up first. They can't explain why; he's just funny. Whether it's in the locker room, or trying to bring some levity in the huddle, the talented guard has a natural gift of humor. In 2007, his second season as a starter, Ohrnberger began turning his hard work, experience and natural physical gifts into becoming one of the top offensive linemen in the Big Ten. His progress played a big role in the improvement of the highly productive offensive line, which returns all five starters. A starter in every game last year, 12 at left guard, he was selected second-team All-Big Ten by the coaches and media. He should be a strong candidate for first-team all-conference accolades this season. Athlon selected him preseason first-team All-Big Ten. A highly skilled and tenacious competitor, Ohrnberger has continued to improve through his hard work in winter conditioning and spring drills and is poised to have a great senior season. One of seven returning Nittany Lions from New York, Ohrnberger is on schedule to graduate in December.

2007
A starter in every game, 12 at left guard, Ohrnberger was selected second-team All-Big Ten by the coaches and media. Ohrnberger and the offensive line were instrumental in helping Rodney Kinlaw post the fourth 1,000-yard rushing season by a Nittany Lion in the past six years. Kinlaw's total of 1,326 yards was ninth-highest in school season history. Ohrnberger played a large role in helping Penn State average 400.1 yards per game -- 193.8 rushing and 206.3 passing -- and 5.5 yards per play. The Nittany Lions ran for 200 yards or more six times, with 270 yards against Texas A&M in the Valero Alamo Bowl, 256 yards against Iowa and 251 yards against Purdue. Ohrnberger was instrumental in helping Penn State gain a season-high 270 rushing yards and 6.6 yards per play in the win over Texas A&M. The O-Line paved the way for Penn State to gain 2,519 rushing yards, with 27 touchdowns, averaging 4.8 yards per attempt in 2007, up 0.6 from 2006. He saw action on 992 snaps, fifth-highest on the squad, led by 89 plays against Iowa and 87 snaps at Indiana.

2006
Ohrnberger played in every game and started the last nine games at right guard. He helped the Nittany Lions rush for a season-high 389 yards against Youngstown State, their highest total in four years, and gain 233 yards rushing against Northwestern. At Purdue, Ohrnberger and the O-Line paved the way for 240 yards on the ground. The Lions rushed for 212 yards against Temple to record Penn State's fourth 200-yard rushing game of the season. He helped Tony Hunt become just the sixth Nittany Lion to compile a pair of 1,000-yard rushing seasons, finishing second in Penn State career rushing with 3,320 yards. Ohrnberger was on the field for 784 snaps, second-highest among all offensive linemen and third-highest among all offensive players. He played a season-high 86 snaps in the 12-0 win at Purdue.

2005
Ohrnberger made his collegiate debut against Central Michigan. He also saw some playing time in the 44-14 thumping of Minnesota, as Penn State ran for 364 yards and gained 35 first downs.
