  • Came in for the final drive of the fourth quarter and completed all three of his pass attempts for 37 yards to help run the clock out in the victory at Denver (11/12).
  • Appeared on the final drive as the Patriots ran out the clock but did not attempt any passes in the 33-8 win at Oakland (11/19) in Mexico City's Estadio Azteca.
  • Was active but did not play in the win vs. Miami (11/26).
  • Appeared on the final drive for two kneel-downs in the victory at Buffalo (12/3).
  • Was active but did not play at Miami (12/11) or in the win at Pittsburgh (12/17).

  • Set the NFL record for the lowest interception percentage in a single season when he threw 200 passes and no interceptions.
  • Placed on Injured Reserve on Oct. 24 with an arm injury and missed the remainder of the season.
  • Became the first Bears QB in franchise history to throw for over 300 yards in four consecutive games with 317 at Dallas (9/25), 302 vs. Detroit (10/2), 397 at Indianapolis (10/9) and 302 vs. Jacksonville (10/16).
  • Threw for a career-high 397 yards and two touchdowns at Indianapolis (10/9), as he completed 33-of-43 attempts.

2015 (11/9, 1/1 - Houston)

  • Played in 11 regular season games with nine starts and passed for 2,606 yards on 224-of-369 passes with a career high 19 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
  • Started in the Wild Card loss vs. Kansas City (1/9) completed 15 passes on 34 attempts for 136 yards and four interceptions.
  • Became the first QB in Texans history to throw two or more touchdown passes in five consecutive games, with two at Atlanta (10/4), two vs. Indianapolis (10/8), three at Jacksonville (10/18), three at Miami (10/25) and two vs. Tennessee (11/1).

2014 (14/13 - Cleveland)

  • Played in 14 games with 13 starts for the Browns and set career highs in attempts (438), completions (242) and yards (3,326), while throwing 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
  • Ranked first in the NFL by averaging 13.74 yards per completion.

2013 (3/3 - Cleveland)

  • Started three games for the Browns and completed 57-of-96 pass attempts for 615 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions.
  • Placed on Injured Reserve on Oct. 12 and missed the remainder of the season.
  • Became the first QB in Browns history to win each of his first three starts with the team.
  • Completed 30-of-54 attempts for a then-career high 321 yards and a career-high three touchdowns at Minnesota (9/27). On the final drive of the game, completed 7-of-11 attempts for 55 yards, capped off by a game-winning 7-yard touchdown pass to TE Jordan Cameron with 51 seconds remaining.

2012 (2/1 - Arizona)

  • Went to training camp with New England and was released prior to the start of the regular season.
  • Signed with Pittsburgh on Nov. 20 and did not appear in a game before being released on Dec. 8.
  • Claimed off waivers and awarded to Arizona on Dec. 10.
  • Made his first career start at San Francisco (12/30) and completed 19 passes on 34 attempts for 225 yards and one touchdown.

2011 (3/0, 0/0)

  • Was active for all 16 games and saw time in three.
  • Was active but did not play in the Super Bowl XLVI against the Giants (2/5), the AFC Championship against the Ravens (1/22), or the Divisional playoff game against the Broncos (1/14).
  • Completed his only pass of the season against Buffalo (1/01), a 22-yard pass to Rob Gronkowski that gave him the NFL single season record for receiving yards by a tight end.
  • Played briefly at the end of the game against the Colts (12/4), but did not attempt any passes.

2010 (5/0, 0/0)

  • Spent the season as the backup quarterback, seeing action in five games.
  • Finished the season with seven completions for 122 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Tate in the third quarter vs. Miami (1/2), Hoyer's first NFL passing touchdown.
  • Was active but did not play in 11 games. Played briefly at the end of the game at Miami (10/4), at Cleveland (11/7), at Chicago (12/12) and at Buffalo (12/26).
  • Saw significant playing time vs. Miami (1/2), taking the field briefly in the second quarter and then for the majority of the second half. Completed 7-of-13 passes for 122 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown pass to Tate in the third quarter.

  • Earned the backup quarterback duties during training camp in a battle with Kevin O'Connell, Matt Gutierrez and Andrew Walter.
  • Played in five games in reserve duty and completed 19 of his 27 pass attempts for 142 yards and had 10 carries for 25 yards with one touchdown.
  • Played in his first game in the Patriots' 59-0 win vs. Tennessee (10/18), entering the game in the third quarter. Completed 9-of-11 pass attempts for 52 yards and scored on a one-yard touchdown run. Completed his first NFL pass to Julian Edelman for a 16-yard gain in the third quarter.
  • Played in reserve at Tampa Bay (10/25) in a 35-7 win at London's Wembley Stadium.
  • Entered the game for the final series of the Patriots' loss at New Orleans (11/30).
  • Saw action in the fourth quarter of the Patriots 35-7 AFC East clinching game vs. Jacksonville (12/27).
  • Saw his most extensive playing time of the season at Houston (1/3) in the regular-season finale, seeing action in the second quarter and fourth quarter and completing 8-of-12 passes for 71 yards.

COLLEGE

  • Appeared in 39 games in four seasons at Michigan State and completed 500-of-896 pass attempts (55.8 pct.) for 6,159 ydars with 35 touchdowns and 23 interceptions.
  • Became one of three Spartan QBs to throw for over 6,000 yards (Jeff Smoker - 8,932 yds.; Drew Stanton - 6,524 yds.). As a senior, earned consensus All-Big Ten honors and was named one of four captains by his teammates. Played in 13 games and completed 180-of-353 attempts for 2,404 yards and nine touchdowns.
  • As a junior in 2007, earned honorable mention All-Big 10 honors. Played in 13 games and completed 223-of-376 attempts for 2,725 yards and 20 scores.
  • As a sophomore, saw action in eight games and completed 82-of-144 attempts for 863 yards and four touchdowns.
  • As a redshirt freshman in 2005, played in five games and completed 15-of-23 attempts for 167 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Redshirted in 2004.

PERSONAL

  • Born the son of Julie and Axel Hoyer on Oct.13, 1985.
  • Was a two-year starter for Coach Chuck Kyle at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland.
  • Associated Press Division I honorable mention all state selection as a senior while completing 158-of-281 throws for 2,570 yards, 21 touchdowns in 2003.
  • Connected on 131-of-263 passes for 2,130 yards, 18 touchdowns in 2002.
  • Also competed in baseball as a pitcher, infielder and outfielder.
  • Compiled an 8-1 record with a 1.99 ERA as a sophomore while leading St. Ignatius to the 2002 Division I state championship.
  • Earned a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies in social science - community relations from Michigan State.
  • Married to wife, Lauren with a son, Garrett and daughter, Cameron.
