David Harris, 33, is a veteran of 10 NFL seasons with the New York Jets after originally entering the NFL as a second-round draft pick (47th overall) of the Jets in the 2007 NFL Draft out of Michigan.

2016 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS (JETS): (12/24 at NE)...Totaled 10 tackles bringing his season total to 104, marking the ninth time in 10 seasons that he has recorded 100+ tackles. (12/11 at SF)...Registered 10 total tackles passing LB Mo Lewis (1,231) for the second-most tackles in franchise history. (11/27 vs. NE)...Co-led team in tackles (11), recording a season-high eight solo takcles and added one pass defensed. 2015 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS (JETS): The team's Dennis Byrd Award recipient as their most inspirational player, he again led the team with 128 tackles (88 solo, nine for loss), marking the seventh-consecutive season he has done so...Moved into third place on the team's all-time tackle list, surpassing LB Marvin Jones (1,021) with six tackles in the season opener vs. CLV (9/13)...Started all 16 games for the seventh-consecutive season, bringing his consecutive games started streak to 116, the top active streak among linebackers...Recorded 4.5 sacks, six quarterback hurries, a career-best six passes defensed and two forced fumbles...Part of a defense that posted a top-10 ranking league-wide in points allowed (19.6 per game), total yardage allowed (318.6), rushing yards allowed (83.4), third down conversion percentage allowed (33.2%) and red zone touchdown percentage allowed (35.0%). (9/21 at IND)...Recorded his first forced fumble of the season, stripping a scrambling QB Andrew Luck before the ball was recovered by CB Darrelle Revis...The takeaway halted an IND drive before the end of the second quarter, preserving the first half shutout. After recording five tackles, moved into third place on the Jets all-time tackles list with 1,204...Increased his career sack total to 31.0, sacking QB Johnny Manziel for a seven-yard loss.

2014 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS (JETS):  Started all 16 games for the sixth consecutive season and led the team and set a new single-season career high with 150 tackles...Tied a career high with 5.5 sacks, which finished fourth best on the team. (12/28 at MIA)...Notched two total sacks in the win to tie his single-season career best with 5.5 sacks...Inside three minutes left in the game, strip-sacked QB Ryan Tannehill, which was recovered by LB Demario Davis and led to K Nick Folk's third field goal of the game. (12/21 vs. NE)...Eclipsed 1,000 tackles for his career after tallying a half-sack in the first quarter. (12/1 vs. MIA)...Tallied his third sack of the season after taking down QB Ryan Tannehill for a loss of 10 yards...Finished with 12 tackles, moving him into fourth on the team's all-time tackles list. (10/16 at NE)...Recorded a sack for a loss of one yard of QB Tom Brady and had six total tackles, including one for a loss. (10/5 at SD)...Totaled 14 tackles, the most by a Jet in a single game that season. (9/22 vs. CHI)...Forced a turnover after registering a stripsack in the second quarter, dropping QB Jay Cutler for a loss of 10 yards. 2013 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS (JETS):  Led the team for the fifth-consecutive season with a career-high 149 tackles for the sixth time in seven seasons and the fifth consecutive campaign...Also posted two sacks and seven tackles for loss. (12/8 vs. OAK)...Amassed 15 tackles, his second-highest total of the season, to surpass S Victor Green (847) for third on the Jets all-time tackle list. (12/1 vs. MIA)...Racked up a teamhigh 13 tackles. (10/13 vs. PIT)...Accumulated 10 tackles and registered a sack when WR Antonio Brown attempted a pass on third-and-goal in the third quarter to force a field goal. (10/7 at ATL)...Posted a gamehigh 16 tackles, the most by a Jet on the season. (9/22 vs. BUF)...Led team in tackles for the second consecutive week (11)...Sacked QB EJ Manuel for a one-yard loss and posted a game-high three tackles for loss. (9/8 vs. TB)...Tallied seven tackles and forced a fumble for a Jets defense that held TB to 250 total yards, including 65 on 25 carries (2.6 avg.).

2012 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS (JETS):  Started all 16 games...Led the team in tackles with 138, as well as a career-high 103 solo tackles...2012 marked the fourthconsecutive season that he led the Jets in tackles.  (12/9 at JAX)...Sacked QB Chad Henne for a two-yard loss. (10/21 at NE)...Sacked QB Tom Brady for a nine-yard loss. (9/23 at MIA)...Tied with S LaRon Landry as the team leader in tackles with 12. (9/16 at PIT)...Led a defense that held the Steelers to 2.4 yards a carry on 28 rushes with 11 tackles.

2011 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS (JETS):  After signing a contract extension during training camp, led the team with 117 tackles, edging S Eric Smith by just two...2011 marked the third-consecutive season, and fourth season in his first five years that he led the Jets in tackles...Finished tied for the team lead in interceptions with a career-best four, while finishing second with five sacks, the second-highest total of his career...Registered a career-best five passes defensed and scored the first touchdown of his career off an interception return. One of four Jets players, three defensive, to earn Pro Football Weekly MidSeason All-Pro team honors. (12/24 vs. NYG)...Registered a sack and interception of QB Eli Manning...It marked the second time in his career that he registered both a sack and interception in the same game. (11/27 vs. BUF)...Recorded his third sack of the season when he dropped QB Ryan Fitzpatrick in the fourth quarter...Finished with 10 tackles, his third 10-plus tackle game of the season. 2010 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS (JETS):  Named the 2010 Curtis Martin Team MVP...One of just two defensive players (LB Bart Scott) to start all 16 games...Major part of a defensive unit that finished third in total defense and rushing defense and sixth in scoring defense...Led the team in tackles for the third time in his first four seasons as he posted 119 total tackles (90 solo)...Collected three sacks, two passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. POSTSEASON: Started all three postseason contests, collecting a team-high 31 tackles (23 solo), leading the club in tackles in all three games...Notched the third interception of his career, and first in the postseason. (Divisional: 1/16 at NE)...Named game captain prior to the contest...Matched his postseason career high with 13 tackles (eight solo) and returned a QB Tom Brady interception 58 yards in the first quarter. 2009 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS (JETS):  Started all 16 regular-season games, as well as the team's three postseason contests...Paced a Jets defense that led the NFL in seven categories (yards per game, yards per play, passing yards per game, passing yards per play, first downs allowed, third-down conversions allowed and points allowed) with 142 tackles, 5.5 sacks, two interceptions, three passes defensed and two forced fumbles...During postseason play, led the team in both tackles (29) and sacks (two). (AFC Championship: 1/24 at IND)...Sacked QB Peyton Manning on consecutive possessions...Finished the game with a team-leading 11 tackles and one forced fumble. (Divisional: 1/17 at SD)...Posted a game-high 13 tackles (nine solo) and a pass defensed. (Wild Card: 1/9 at CIN)...Made his postseason debut, collecting five tackles. (12/13 at TB)...Opened the game with an interception of QB Josh Freeman, leading to a 40-yard field goal that gave the Jets a 3-0 lead. (9/27 vs. TEN)...Awarded a game ball after recording his first-career interception off of QB Kerry Collins...Also sacked Collins for an eight-yard loss and finished with five tackles. (9/13 at HST)...Earned game ball after leading the club with 12 tackles...Part of a defensive effort that held HST to 38 yards rushing, including only 17 yards on nine carries by RB Steve Slaton, the second-leading rusher in the AFC in 2008...Part of a defensive effort that limited a HST offense that ranked third in the NFL in 2008 to just 183 yards of total offense.

2008 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS (JETS):  Started 11 games and was inactive for five contests... Ranked second on the team with 87 tackles and also contributed one sack, one fumble recovery, two quarterback hurries and one pass defensed...Led or tied for the team lead in tackles in five contests...Inactive at BUF (11/2), vs. SL (11/9), at NE (11/13), at TEN (11/23) and vs. DEN (11/30) with an injury.  (10/12 vs. CIN)...Sacked QB Ryan Fitzpatrick. (9/28 vs. ARZ)...Notched a fumble recovery.

2007 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS (JETS):  Led team with 117 tackles and tied for team lead with five sacks (all five coming in the club's final nine games)...Played in all 16 games, starting the final nine contests...Averaged more than 10 tackles per game during his nine starts...Third Jets rookie since 1991 to record at least 100 tackles in a season (LB Jonathan Vilma, 118, 2004; S Kerry Rhodes, 108, 2005)...Named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month for November after recording 36 tackles and one sack. (12/30 vs. KC)...Sacked QB Brodie Croyle and led the team with 13 tackles. (12/23 at TEN)...Sacked QB Vince Young and forced a fumble. (12/2 at MIA)...Named Jets Defensive Player of the Week as he recorded a team-high eight tackles...Sacked QB John Beck, forcing a fumble that he also recovered.
