2017 (16/8, 3/3)

  • Appeared in a reserve role at running back and rushed twice for nine yards in the season opener vs. Kansas City (9/7). Also returned three kickoffs for 49 yards.
  • Appeared in limited snaps as a reserve running back and rushed four times for 14 yards, while adding one reception for 11 yards in the victory at New Orleans (9/17). Also handled kickoff return duties.
  • Rushed twice for five yards and added three catches for 12 yards while also handling kickoff return duties, returning two kicks for 44 yards in the win vs. Houston (9/24).
  • Rushed four times for 18 yards, adding his first touchdown of the season on an eight-yard rush in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to seven vs. Carolina (10/1). Also caught one pass for nine yards and handled kickoff return duties, returning one kick for 23 yards.
  • Led the team in rushing with 53 yards on just seven carries, including a career-long 31-yard run in the first quarter, while adding two receptions for ten yards in the victory at Tampa Bay (10/5). Also handled kick return duties with one kickoff returned for 23 yards.
  • Made his first start of the season and led the team in rushing with 52 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries, while also handling kickoff return duties with one return for 17 yards in the win at N.Y. Jets (10/15).
  • Made his second-consecutive start and was a key contributor in the running game, finishing with a game high 76 yards on just 13 carries as part of a rushing attack that finished with a season-high 162 yards, while also adding one reception for six yards in the victory vs. Atlanta (10/22). His 25-yard second quarter run put the Patriots into Atlanta territory on their first scoring drive of the night while his four carries and 30 yards on the final offensive drive of the night helped seal the win as the Patriots ran the clock out. Also returned one kickoff for 14 yards.
  • Started at running back and led the team in rushing yards with 44 yards on 15 carries, adding two receptions for 10 yards whil also setting a regular season career high with a 71-yard kickoff return to open the second half of the win vs. L.A. Chargers (10/29). Also added a second kickoff return for 25 yards.
  • Started at running back and finished with a game-high 55 yards on 14 carries, including an 8-yard touchdown run, while also returning a first quarter kickoff 103 yards for a touchdown in the win at Denver (11/12). It was the first multi-touchdown game of his regular season career. He earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts.
  • Started and totaled 60 yards rushing on ten carries while also adding four catches for 28 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown reception from Tom Brady that gave the Patriots the early lead in their 33-8 victory at Oakland (11/19) in Mexico City's Estadio Azteca. Lewis made three defenders miss after catching the short pass from Brady on the way to his first receiving touchdown of the season.
  • Set a career-high with 112 yards rushing on just 15 carries, amassing three carries of 20 or more yards during the victory vs. Miami (11/26). Also caught one pass for one yard, while handling kickoff return duties with two returns for a total of 35 yards.
  • Rushed 15 times for 92 yards, including a career long 44-yard run in the second quarter that helped set up a Stephen Gostkowski field goal in the win at Buffalo (12/3).
  • Rushed five times for 17 yards and added five catches for 50 yards out of the backfield at Miami (12/11). Also handled kickoff return duties, returning three kicks for 49 yards.
  • Started and rushed 13 times for 67 yards, averaging 5.2-yards per carry, while adding an 8-yard touchdown run with 56 seconds left in the game to put the Patriots ahead for good in the victory at Pittsburgh (12/17). Also caught one pass for 13 yards and returned four kickoffs for a total of 74 yards.
  • Started at running back and set a career-high with 129 yards rushing and a touchdown on 24 carries, while also adding five receptions for 24 yards and a 12-yard touchdown reception that broke the game open in the fourth quarter of the win vs. Buffalo (12/24). Also returned two kickoffs for 43 yards. He earned AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts.
  • Started at running back and was a major contributor with a season-high 26 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown, while also leading the team with six catches out of the backfield for 40 yards and another touchdown in the win vs. N.Y. Jets (12/31). It was the second straight week Lewis has scored two touchdowns in a game and the third time overall in his career.
  • Started and finished with 141 yards from scrimmage, consisting of 62 yards on the ground on 15 carries and catching a career-high nine passes for 79 yards in the Divisional round victory vs. Tennessee (1/13). He also returned one kickoff for 27 yards.
  • Started at running back and rushed nine times for 34 yards, added seven receptions for 32 yards and handled kickoff return duties with two returns for 34 yards in the AFC Championship victory vs. Jacksonville (1/21).
  • Made the start at running back and rushed nine times for 39 yards, while also handling kickoff return duties with three returns for 45 yards in Super Bowl LII vs. Philadelphia (2/4).

2016 (7/5, 3/2)

  • Started the regular season on Reserve/P.U.P. before being activated to the 53-man roster on Nov. 12.
  • Appeared in seven regular-season games with five starts and totaled 64 rushing attempts for 283 yards (4.4 avg.) and 17 receptions for 94 yards (5.5 avg.). Also returned two kickoffs for 35 yards.
  • Played in all three playoff games with two starts and rushed 25 times for 79 yards (3.2 avg.) and a touchdown, caught five passes for 33 yards (6.6 avg.) and one touchdown. Also returned five kickoffs for 162 yards and one touchdown.
  • Was inactive vs. Seattle (11/13) after being activated to the 53-man roster the day before. 
  • Rushed five times for 23 yards and added three catches for 26 yards in his 2016 season debut in the win at San Francisco (11/20).
  • Started at running back and set a career-high with 18 rushing attempts for 95 yards in the win at Denver (12/18). Also caught two passes for 9 yards.
  • Became the first player in NFL postseason history to have a running touchdown, a receiving touchdown and return a kickoff for a touchdown in a single game in the Divisional Round win vs. Houston (1/14). Scored on a 13-yard reception and returned a kick 98 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter before addng a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Finished the game with two total receptions for 23 yards and 41 rushing yards on 13 attempts. The contest also marked his NFL postseason debut while he scored his first touchdowns of the season in his first postseason game. His 98-yard kickoff return was the first kickoff return for a touchdown in team playoff history. Also became the sixth player in NFL history to score two touchdowns in the first quarter of a divisional playoff game. 

2015 (7/6, 0/0)

  • Played in seven regular-season games with six starts before suffering a knee injury and was placed on Injured Reserve on Nov. 9.
  • Finished the season with 49 rushing attempts for 234 yards (4.8 avg.) and two touchdowns and registered 36 receptions for 388 yards (10.8 avg.) and two touchdowns.
  • Was inactive due to injury vs. N.Y. Jets (10/25).
  • Registered two 90-yard receiving performances:
    • Week 2 at Buffalo (6 rec. 98 yds)
    • Week 8 vs. Miami (6 rec. 93 yds)
  • Made his first career start in season opener vs. Pittsburgh (9/10), where he recorded 120 yards from scrimmage on 19 touches, totaling 69 rushing yards on 15 carries and 51 receiving yards on four receptions.
  • Rushed seven times for 40 yards and his first Patriots touchdown on a 6-yard run in the win at Buffalo (9/20). Also caught six passes for a career-high 98 yards, including a 40-yard reception in the second quarter.
  • Started at running back in the win at Dallas (10/11). Rushed six times for 34 yards and caught a team-high eight passes for 59 yards, including his first career touchdown reception on a 10-yard pass from Tom Brady in the third quarter.
  • Returned to action after missing the game vs. N.Y. Jets (10/25) due to an injury. Rushed five times for 19 yards and caught six passes for 93 yards, including a 16-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter of the win vs. Miami (10/29).
  • Started at running back and recorded four rushes for 14 yards and four catches for 39 yards before suffering a knee injury in the third quarter of the win vs. Washington (11/8).

  • Went to training camp with Cleveland but was released prior to the start of the regular season.

2012 (9/0 - Philadelphia)

  • Played in nine games as a reserve running back, carrying 13 times for 69 yards and one touchdown, while also catching two passes for 24 yards.
  • Set a career high by hauling in a 28-yard reception in the win at Tampa Bay (9/9). Also returned his only kickoff of the season 33 yards, tying a career high.

2011 (15/0 - Philadelphia)

  • Played in 15 games as a rookie in 2011, rushing 23 times for 102 yards and one touchdown and catching one pass for a loss of three yards.
  • Served as the primary kickoff returner, taking back 31 kickoffs for 669 yards (21.6 avg.), with a long of 33.
  • Set career highs with 12 carries for 58 yards and his first career touchdown in the season finale vs. Washington (1/1/).

  • Spent two seasons at Pittsburgh (2009-10), where he finished fourth on the school’s all-time rushing list with 2,860 yards.
  • Became the first player since Michael Vick (Virginia Tech, 1999) to earn Big East Offensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors in the same season after rushing 325 times for 1,799 yards (5.5 avg.) and 18 total touchdowns as a freshman in 2009.
  • Broke Tony Dorsett’s freshman rushing record (1,686 yards in 1973) and tied his freshman record with 10 100-yard rushing games.
  • Also earned unanimous first-team All-Big East, Freshman All-American and second-team All-American honors.
  • Led the team with 1,061 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2010.


  • Born Sept. 27, 1990, to parents, Leroy and Linda Lewis.
  • Was named the New Jersey Prep Offensive Player of the Year in 2008 after rushing 88 times for 1,243 yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior at Blair Academy (N.J.).
  • Added two punt return touchdowns and one receiving touchdown.
  • Helped lead Blair Academy to a 17-1 record in his final two seasons, including two Mid-Atlantic Prep League Championships and a New Jersey Prep state title.
  • Had 79 carries for 979 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior in 2007.
  • Attended Albany High School and Albany Academy in Albany, N.Y. before transferring to Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J.
  • Majored in communications at Pittsburgh.
