Jabaal Sheard was signed by the New England Patriots as an unrestricted free agent from Cleveland on March 12, 2015 ... Originally drafted by Cleveland in the second round (37th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft.

SEASONAL REVIEWS

2016 (8/8) 

  • Recorded four tackles after making the start at right end in the win at Arizona (9/11). 
  • Finished with one tackle in the win vs. Miami (9/18) after making the start at right end. 
  • Sacked Brock Osweiler twice for 21 yards in the win vs. Houston (9/22) to mark the fifth multiple-sack game of his career and his second consecutive two-sack game against the Texans. Also added three tackles.
  • Recorded a second consecutive game with a sack after bringing down QB Tyrod Taylor for two yards vs. Buffalo (10/2). Added three tackles. 
  • Totaled three tackles in the win at Cleveland (10/9) and was part of a defensive line that held the Browns to just 27 yards rushing after they entered the game leading the league in rushing yards.

  • Started all 16 regular-season games as a rookie in 2011, recording 55 tackles, two passes defensed and one fumble recovery. Also led the team with 8½ sacks and five forced fumbles.

  • Earned second-team All-Big East honors as a junior in 2009 after starting all 13 games and registering 42 tackles and five sacks.
  • Started all 13 games as a sophomore in 2008, finishing with 45 tackles and 5½ sacks.
  • Played in nine games and had three tackles as a true freshman in 2008.
