Jacoby Brissett was drafted by the New England Patriots in the third round (91st overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

SEASONAL REVIEWS

2016 (3/2, 0/0)

  • Appeared in three regular-season games with two starts and finished 34-of-55 passing (61.8 percent) for 400 yards. Also rushed 16 times for 83 yards and a touchdown before being placed on Injured Reserve on Oct. 7 with a designation to return. Returned to the active roster on Dec. 21 after being activated from Injured Reserve and was inactive for the final two regular-season contests.
  • Was inactive for all three playoff games.
  • Made his first NFL appearance as the backup quarterback in relief of Jimmy Garoppolo who left the game with an injury in the second quarter of the win vs. Miami (9/18). Completed his first NFL pass to TE Martellus Bennett for a 37-yard gain in the third quarter. Finished 6-of-9 for 92 yards and rushed for 12 yards on four carries. 
  • Made his first NFL start to become the ninth Patriots quarterback to make a start during his rookie season in the win vs. Houston (9/23). Finished the game 11-of-19 for 103 yards and scored his first NFL touchdown on a 27-yard run in the first quarter, marking the longest run by a Patriots quarterback since Steve Grogan had a 31-yard run vs. the Baltimore Colts on Sept. 18, 1978, and the longest touchdown run since Grogan scored on a 41-yard touchdown run vs. the NY Jets on Oct. 18, 1976. 
  • Made his second straight start at quarterback and finished 17-of-27 for 205 yards, including a 58-yard pass to Martellus Bennett, vs. Buffalo (10/2). 
  • Placed on Injured Reserve list (10/7).
  • Activated to the 53-man roster (12/21).

COLLEGE

  • Began his collegiate career at Florida before transferring to NC State after the 2012 season.
  • In 2011, became first true freshman quarterback at Florida to take his first career snap as the starter.
  • Sat out the 2013 season and took over as Wolfpack starting QB in 2014.
  • Threw 187 straight passes without an interception in 2014 - the seventh longest streak in ACC history.
  • Played in 13 games and completed 237-of-395 passes for 2,662 yards and 20 touchdowns and five interceptions as a senior in 2015. Also rushed 139 times for 370 yards and six touchdowns.
  • Played in 13 games as a junior in 2014 and completed 221-of-370 passes for 2,606 yards, for 23 touchdowns and five interceptions. Also posted 124 rushing attempts for 529 yards and three touchdowns.
  • Was one of just three quarterbacks in the Power 5 conferences with at least 2,000 passing yards, 300 rushing yards, 20 passing TDs and five or less interceptions (with Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota of Oregon and Brett Hundley of UCLA).
  • Threw 23 touchdown passes, the seventh-best single season mark in school history and more than Philip Rivers had in his junior campaign.
  • Threw 187 straight passes without an interception in 2014 - the seventh longest streak in ACC history.
  • Ranked third in the ACC in total offense (51st nationally) with 241.2 yards/game. His 3,135 total yards was the seventh-best mark in school history.
  • Sat out the 2013 season after transferring from Florida.

PERSONAL

  • Led Dwyer to its first state championship during his junior campaign.
  • Dwyer posted a 12-2 record and reached the state 4A semifinals during his senior campaign.
  • Competed in the 2011 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
