CAREER NOTES
  • Started 27-of-37 games at Rutgers – all at cornerback.
  • Earned First Team All-American honors (Pro Football Weekly), second-team All-America accolades from The NFL Draft Report, All-Big Conference and Academic All-Big East honors as a senior.
  • Earned All-Big East Conference first-team honors from The NFL Draft Report as a junior.
  • Earned Big East All-Academic team honors as a sophomore.
  • Recorded 170 tackles (111 solos) with an assisted sack, 11 stops for losses of 49 yards and a quarterback pressure.
  • Caused two fumbles and recovered four others, returning one 18 yards.
  • Deflected 39 passes and intercepted seven others for 73 yards in returns (10.4 avg), including one touchdown.

Senior Year (2012):
  • Received All-American first-team honors from Pro Football Weekly and second-team accolades from The NFL Draft Report, All-Big East Conference and Academic All-Big East honors.
  • Started all 13 games at cornerback and recorded 94 tackles (59 solos), second-best on the team, as he added five stops for losses of 22 yards and two fumble recoveries.
  • Credited with 21 passes defended, behind only Jason Verrett of Texas Christian, Will Davis of Utah State and Dee Milliner of Alabama (all with 22).
  • That total included a career-high 21 pass break-ups and four interceptions for 17 yards in returns.


Junior Year (2011):
  • Earned All-Big East Conference first-team honors from The NFL Draft Report and was a second-team choice by the league’s coaches after he earned a starting job for all 13 games at cornerback.
  • Emerged as one of the top cornerbacks in the Big East, as the team compiled a 9-4 record and Ryan finished third on the team with 67 tackles (48 solos) that included an assisted sack, 5 ½ stops behind the line of scrimmage and a QB pressure. Also caused and recovered two fumbles.
  • Led the team with 17 pass deflections (12th in the nation) and gained 56 yards with a touchdown on three interceptions.


Sophomore Year (2010):
  • Earned Big East All-Academic team honors and appeared in 11 games at cornerback, making one start vs. Florida International.
  • Finished with nine tackles (four solos) that included a stop for a 2-yard loss and a pass deflection.
  • Had a pair of tackles in each of the Tulane and South Florida contests.


Freshman Year (2009):
  • Redshirted his freshman year.
