- Earned All-Big East Conference first-team honors from The NFL Draft Report and was a second-team choice by the league’s coaches after he earned a starting job for all 13 games at cornerback.
- Emerged as one of the top cornerbacks in the Big East, as the team compiled a 9-4 record and Ryan finished third on the team with 67 tackles (48 solos) that included an assisted sack, 5 ½ stops behind the line of scrimmage and a QB pressure. Also caused and recovered two fumbles.
- Led the team with 17 pass deflections (12th in the nation) and gained 56 yards with a touchdown on three interceptions.
Sophomore Year (2010):
- Earned Big East All-Academic team honors and appeared in 11 games at cornerback, making one start vs. Florida International.
- Finished with nine tackles (four solos) that included a stop for a 2-yard loss and a pass deflection.
- Had a pair of tackles in each of the Tulane and South Florida contests.
