Bruins and Canadiens goalies honor the Patriots

Netminders on both teams will be wearing Patriots-inspired masks for the Winter Classic at Gillette Stadium.

The NHL's takeover of Gillette Stadium is in full force today, with both the Bruins and Canadiens in the house. In a few hours, the teams' former stars will hit the ice for the Winter Classic Alumni Game, which serves as a precursor to the big New Year's Day game. So, we have to admit, there's been a bit of a Bruins-Patriots love fest going on. Yesterday, Bruins head coach Claude Julien stopped by Patriots practice and today, Bill Belichick joined him for a morning skate.

But that's not all. Goalies on both sides of the ice are also paying tribute to the Patriots with masks made specially for the Winter Classic.

Bruins netminder Tuukka Rask revealed his at today's practice. It features Tom Brady, Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski and Stephen Gostkowski.

And even though he's wearing the bleu, blanc et rouge of the Bruins' archenemies, Canadiens goalie Mike Condon, who is from Needham, Mass., is also honoring New England football. His mask features Coach Belichick, Tom Brady, the Patriots four Lombardi trophies and the team's "Do Your Job" mantra.

"I grew up 30 minutes from the stadium, so we were a huge Patriots family," Mike told "And my dad used to work security details for the Pats, so I spent a lot of time at Gillette Stadium."
