FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Every player on New England's 53-man roster is traveling to Cincinnati today, with one exception. Rookie DL Byron Cowart will stay behind and miss his third consecutive game.
For more than a couple weeks now, Cowart has been attempting to recover from a concussion. Though he was able to practice on a limited basis throughout this past week, he's not quite ready for game action.
Normally, Cowart has been on the inactive list anyway this season, although most of the other occasions, he was a healthy scratch (not listed on the injury report).
The 52 other Patriots on the active roster will be journeying to southern Ohio for tomorrow's game against the Bengals, but six of them will have to be included with Cowart on the inactive list for that contest in order to comply with the NFL's 46-man game-day limit. That announcement will come 90 minutes before Sunday's 1 p.m. kickoff.
