Ladies, if you like football and fashion, you're in for a treat.
This Saturday, Patriots fans are invited to the Style Lounge, a pop-up boutique and experience designed specially for women (of course, guys can come along too, but this is really for us girls). It promises to be a great ladies' day out, with a DJ on hand as well as free "fanicures" in Patriots colors.
In addition to getting a bit of pampering in, you'll have the chance to meet Phillip Block, stylist to the stars, Creative Fashion Director for the NFL and all-around sartorial genius. He's fresh off the New York Fashion Week circuit and is sure to bring lots of ideas for infusing your signature game day look with the latest trends. Plus, representatives from Nike, '47 Brand, Alex and Ani, and New Era will be around to offer style tips and share their designs from the NFL women's collection.
Still, the Patriots Style Lounge isn't just for fashion lovers; it's for all female fans. As the events spokeswoman Bianca Wilfork explains, "This is for everyone. It's about being able to rep your team and look great doing so. Women have tons of options nowadays when it comes to supporting their team. Long gone are the days when you have to by a men's T-shirt or jersey to show support."
The Style Lounge has popped up at NFL stadiums across the country, but this weekend marks its first appearance in Foxborough and also the first time it will open to the public on a non-game day. All female fans are invited to come along on Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m. The event is free and everyone who walks through the door will be entered into a raffle for some great prizes from Patriot Place. The Style Lounge is also open to ticketed fans on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
While the Style Lounge is all about getting fashionable with your favorite football team, it's a chance to give back to the community too. The Patriots Women's Association will be collecting new or like-new business clothes for Dress for Success, an organization that supports disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a support network and career development opportunities.
