Gridiron Grub: Pastrami and corned beef sandwich

New York City has its fair share of iconic foods and when it comes to sandwiches, the Carnegie Deli's "Woody Allen" is king, especially for meat lovers. Piled high with a pound of pastrami and corned beef, the colossal sandwich requires a championship effort to get down. If you're up for a challenge, you can create your own version at home, and if eating a pound of meat seems like an impossible feat, then grab a few friends and some extra slices of bread, and make smaller versions of this big New York favorite.

PASTRAMI AND CORNED BEEF "WOODY ALLEN" SANDWICH RECIPE

  • Sourdough bread, sliced 
  • 1/2 lb pastrami
  • 1/2 lb corned beef
  • Mayonnaise
  • Whole grain mustard 

Spread mayonnaise and mustard on two slices of bread.

Stack pastrami and corned beef on one slice of bread and then top with other slice.

Cut sandwich in half, insert toothpicks to help hold it together and enjoy!
