Gronk claims 24/7 Championship from Mojo Rawley at WrestleMania 36

All is fair in love and wrestling. That's how that saying goes, right?

Well, Rob Gronkowski made his presence known at WrestleMania 36 this weekend when he pinned his good friend Mojo Rawley, stripping him of the 24/7 Championship. Gronk served as the event's host, and though it wasn't his first appearance with the WWE, it was the first time he earned the title of champion.

The 24/7 Champion means the winner must be on his or her toes at all times. It needs to be defended, well, 24/7. As long as a referee is present, the winner can be dethroned, and Gronk didn't take it easy on his friend.

In an interview with the WWE before the event, Gronk called WrestleMania "the Super Bowl of wrestling," and with people staying home and most sports being postponed, the entertainment value of the crowd-less WrestleMania lived up to the hype. As Mojo Rawley, the reigning 24/7 Champion, was being swarmed by those looking to taking away the belt, Gronk climbed on a perch and essentially stage dove on top of everyone. He landed on his friend, and in a moment of pure chaos and hilarity, Gronk pins Mojo, claiming his first title in the wrestling world.

This moment came on Night 2 and as a moment of vengeance. On Night 1, Gronk was about to pin R-Truth, the 24/7 Champion at the time, but Mojo swooped in. He told Gronk to come fight for it on Night 2, and Gronk made good on Mojo's taunt.

You can see Gronk listed among the other champs here and watch the entire clip in all its glory below.
