Hydration, China and rugby: Tom Brady's media day explained

Tom Brady addressed media on Wednesday afternoon, and there a few memorable moments.

Tom Brady addressed the media on Wednesday afternoon. This, on its own, is not groundbreaking by any means. He does it every week.

Yet, after Tom answered questions about this week's AFC East Divisional matchup, moments of levity made it a memorable press conference. As he grabbed his water bottle and got ready to leave the podium, he checked in with members of the New England media to make sure they were all staying hydrated.

"Who's got water in here?" Tom asked, pointing around the room. "Water! Smart!"

Tom's wellness and water check made for a light moment to end his availability, but it wasn't the only interesting moment of the day. He was also rocking a unique shirt that caught the eye of fans, and it's for a cool reason, too. The gray shirt with a Patriots logo is nothing out of the ordinary, but the Chinese characters reading, "Patriots China" make it stand out.

Patriots fans in the United States may not know this, but their team is the No. 1 NFL club in China. Over the past few years, the organization has launched social media accounts to reach Patriots fans across the globe, and this year, the team has an embedded reporter from Shanghai to cover the team.

With more than 530,000 followers on Weibo and a presence on weChat, Tom wearing the Patriots China shirt was a nice nod to those fans. Though the shirt is not currently for sale, it was a cool moment.

The Patriots also have international accounts in Brazil and Germany, as well as a Patriots Español account. Former Patriots Sebastian Vollmer and Markus Kuhn even broadcasted preseason games in German earlier this year.

Tom's day wasn't done with the Patriots China shirt, though. Back in the locker room, Nate Ebner got Tom to "Back the Boys." With the U.S. men's rugby team competing in the Rugby World Cup, Nate got his teammate to support the cause.

Nate competed for Team U.S.A. in the 2016 summer Olympics, so of course, he is all in on the team's push for glory. To cap off the shout out on Twitter, Tom gave his iconic, "Let's go!"

Well, it may have just been another day at the office for Tom, but it made for some social media gold.
