In Case You Missed It: Prepping for Miami

For starters, you know you played a great game when Bill Belichick allows you two days off. Topics of conversation this week include how outstanding the Patriots defense and special teams played, as well as how Patriots fans made a big impact on the game.

On Monday, after things settled, Bill Belichick called in to address the media. Something that caught most of the attention was when he started to talk about the fans in San Diego.

"There was a sea of Patriots fans behind our bench. I don't think I've ever quite seen that before. They were just all kind of in the same spot, it was almost like a college game in a neutral site, where one side of the field is one team and the other side is the other team. The support and the fans that we had at the game and all of them there behind us was awesome. It was great."

Listen to that interview and its entirety here.

On Tuesday, John Rooke broke down the game is his weekly column praising the big night the Patriots defense had and its role in the victory. Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels called in again to address the media, giving some insight on the challenges they will face this week against the Dolphins.

On Wednesday, Ryan Allen was announced as the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week, marking the fifth time this season a Patriots player has recieved that recognition. Not bad I must say! Later in the day, head coach of the Miami Dolphins, Joe Philbin as well as defensive end Cameron Wake addressed the media here at Foxborough. Biggest thing I noticed they talked about how they are looking to stop Gronkowski. That wont be easy.

Breaking away from some of the football action, and getting closer to the holidays, the Patriots participated in numerous events around New England. Patrick Chung and Michael 'Hooman' Hoomanawanui, sang along to Christmas carols with children at Children's Hospital in Boston. They also attended the Children's Holiday Party at Gillette stadium where a few Patriots were decorated as Christmas tree.

Also in the headlines off the field, Rob Gronkowski showed his soft side posing with little kittens for ESPN the Magazine that took the media waves by storm. If you havent seen them yet, our Lifestyle Editor, Briana Palma fills you in here. Yes, Belichick saw them as well and opens meetings on Thursday poking fun at Gronk.

Much of Thursday's action here at Gillette was trying to stay warm as the snow began to fall in the area. Some players we heard from included Darrelle Revis, Rob Ninkovich, and Rob Gronkowski. Matt Patricia addressed the media as well saying that the Patriots 'Have to stick to the gameplan' if they want to win on Sunday.

Game Preview

The Patriots will face the Dolphins on Sunday afternoon here at Gillette Stadium where the weather seems to look unseasonably warm for December in New England. The Patriots come into this game behind in the series 46-52 with their last meeting back in September where New England lost 20-33. Interesting to note, since Belichick has been head coach, the Patriots are 18-11 against the Dolphins. Brady is 17-8 against the Dolphins, 11-1 at home and a rough 6-7 down in Miami. The Patriots enter this week's game with 16 straight home victories against AFC opponents, and look to add to that feat. Game time is at 1:00pm ET on CBS.
