Two champions came together on Tuesday, as Julian Edelman made a special visit to Massachusetts General Hospital in honor of its new No. 1 ranking by U.S. News & World Report.
Julian joined MGH employees, leadership and local elected officials at a ceremony where he made brief remarks. He congratulated the staff on the achievement, noting that they beat out thousands of hospitals across the country, compared to the 31 teams the Patriots had to outdo to become World Champions this year. In true New England Patriots fashion, Julian also presented a specially made game ball honoring the achievement.
After his appearance at the ceremony, Julian made his way up to the hospital's pediatric ward, where he individually met with a number of patients and their families. He brought lots of smiles to the children as he spent time talking, playing games and posing for photos with them.
Julian isn't the only Patriot to visit MGH in recent weeks, though. Last month, Rob Gronkowski, Chris Jones and Matthew Slaterjoined the hospital for its annual employee picnic, where they teamed up with staff members to play a life-size version of the game Operation.
On Tuesday, July 21, 2015, Julian Edelman made a surprise visit to MGH to honor the hospital for being named No. 1 in the country. He participated in a celebration with employees and later visited patients in the pediatric ward. Read more about the visit on Patriots Lifestyle.
