Super Bowl hero versus NBA MVP: who will come out on top?
Malcolm Butler and Stephen Curry are going head to head for this year's Best Play award at the ESPYs. Malcolm is of course nominated for his Super Bowl XLIX interception, while Steph made the cut with an impressive 3-pointer against theL.A. Clippers back in March. Â
The two are doing battle in the second round of a bracket-style fan vote, which started with 16 highlight-reel plays and is now narrowed down to eight. Fans will decide the final four and ultimate winner, who will be named at the July 15 ceremony, set to air on ABC.Â
To advance to the current stage, Malcolm beat out freestyle motocross rider Josh Sheehan, who, in April, became the first person to complete a triple-backflip on a motorcycle. Malcolm moved on with 71 percent of the vote. Steph defeated current Detroit Lions player Ameer Abdullah, who was nominated for a game-winning touchdown with his college team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers.Â
Relive Malcolm's and Steph's plays below and be sure to cast your vote for Malcolm before the second round ends on Wednesday, July 8. Don't forget to check out the Patriots other nomineestoo.
