McCourty twins return home to pay it forward

Just a week after they hosted their third annual Tackle Sickle Cell 5K, Devin and Jason McCourty were back in the community for their one-day football skills camp in Nyack, N.Y. Two hundred and fifty kids joined them for drills, training tips and lots of fun, not to mention autographs and prizes.

It is the fourth year that the pair has hosted the free camp in their hometown.

"It's important to show kids that there are examples out there of people who made it from similar backgrounds as themselves," Devin said in a press release.

Jason added, "Being able to give back in your own community and see the impact we have on the kids is an indescribable feeling."

Meanwhile, last weekend's 5K was held at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, N.J., not far from Rutgers University, where both attended college. According to the race website, it raised more than $64,000 for the twins' Tackle Sickle Cell campaign. As they did last year, Devin and Jason made a friendly bet on who could raise more money ahead of the 5K, with J-Mac edging out his brother. Devin will have to pay his debt by announcing defeat on a billboard in Nashville, where Jason plays with the Tennessee Titans.
