News Blitz 10/7: Julian Edelman added to Patriots injury report

Today’s Patriots.com News Blitz includes word that Julian Edelman is once again dealing with a foot injury while Martellus Bennett offers up his usual variety of interesting quotes.

Just days before his pal and quarterback Tom Brady was set to make his return to the Patriots on Sunday afternoon in Cleveland, New England wide receiver created his own buzz this week when he was added to Thursday’s injury report with a foot issue, the Boston Globe notes. While there may be some uncertainty with Edelman being limited in practice, the Globe writes there is no doubt tight end Martellus Bennett is looking forward to his first game with Brady.

The *Globe *also offers up some Brady-related fantasy football advice.

The Boston Herald says there is no telling which Brady will actually show up to play this season. The Herald Patriots notebook notes that Jonathan Cooper has been removed from the injury report, a foot injury that dates back to late July no longer an issue. The *Herald *also has a wide-ranging mailbag of Patriots-related questions and answers.

The Providence Journal says that Bennett not only does his job, but much more. The ProJo also notes Edelman’s foot injury.

CSNNE.com looks at Cooper’s status, now removed from the injury report after being inactive for the first four games of the year. CSNNE.com writes about Bennett’s mother apparently being happy he landed with the Patriots this offseason.

NFL.com has Browns wide receiver Terrelle Pryor admitting he thought the Patriots were going to sign him in 2015. Now, the converted quarterback leads the Browns with 19 receptions as they prepare to take on New England on Sunday. NFL.com predicts an easy Patriots win in Cleveland.

USA Today has Bennett making a unique Harry Potter comparison for Brady’s return to action.
