News Blitz 3/3: Looking at the draft

All of the day's Patriots news in one convenient place.

Another quiet day in Foxborough – so far – with no tapes that need lip reading or social media posts and analyze and break down for the next 48 hours.

Thankfully there has been some draft talk, though, and that's where we'll begin today.

The Boston Herald says the Patriots need to find a way to get into the second round in next month's draft. They currently don't have a pick in that round due to the trade to acquire Mohamed Sanu. The Providence Journal continues to look at tight end as a major area of need. says the Patriots must avoid letting themselves fall into another situation where they’re reliant on a last-minute fill-in like Marshall Newhouse up front.

Peter King offered up an item about Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert explaining his meeting with the Patriots and showing appreciation for New England’s offense.

The Boston Globe says Peyton Manning's foray into free agency back in 2012 can be instructive for Tom Brady this time around. It's lying season in the NFL, say the Athletic, so beware any and all rumors surrounding Brady. That doesn't stop them from wondering if TB might land in TB, as in Tampa Bay.

Some NFL executives believe Tennessee would make the most sense for Brady if he leaves New England.
