The Patriots track record with young receivers during the Tom Brady era has not been great. Deion Branch, David Givens and Julian Edelman are the only three wideouts who’ve enjoyed extended success after being drafted in New England.

The team invested a first-round pick in wide receiver N’Keal Harry in April, the first time a wideout has gone in the first round for the Patriots since Terry Glenn in 1996. So the questions about the past failures have already started to fly.

The Athletic dives into the topic and chats with a few past receivers who had trouble fitting into the Patriots offensive system with Brady.

It’s summer and things are slow so why not have a fun debate? That’s what NBC Sports Boston did, wondering which catch was better in Super Bowl LI, Edelman’s or Julio Jones’.

While continuing his media tour promoting Friday’s premier for his documentary, Edelman joked that he believes there’s an 11 percent chance Rob Gronkowski could return. He also believes that Bill Belichick has gotten a little softer over the years.

WEEI.com wonders if this is the year that one of the new coaches or quarterbacks in the AFC East finally manages to put a scare in to the Patriots. Meanwhile, Devin McCourty sits at No. 9 on their list of the 15 most important Patriots.
