Josh Gordon's physical abilities are without question.

He proved he could be an elite NFL wide receiver. Of course that was back in 2013.

Since then, he proved to the Browns that he couldn't be counted on.

Now, after Cleveland decided to move on from Gordon, the man who once had 200-plus receiving yards in back-to-back games is the latest addition to the Patriots work-in-progress wide receiver depth chart.

The Boston Herald declares the trade for Gordon "the right move." The Herald's weekly Patriots report card says the performance in Jacksonville was "well below grade." TheHerald rites that the Gordon trade has his new New England teammates "excited."

WEEI.com writes that the Gordon trade is about how desperate the Patriots are at receiver after many mistakes were made at the position. WEEI.com says "hell yes" to the Gordon trade given New England's needs at the position. WEEI.com notes that Bill Belichick wouldn't discuss the Gordon trade during his weekly interview on the station Monday afternoon even though the deal had been made official by both teams. NBC Sports Boston says that Gordon can now either "make history or be history." NBC Sports Boston has Jason McCourty, Gordon's former Browns teammate, saying the best comparison for the receiver is Falcons star Julio Jones. NBC Sports Boston has former Brown teammate Donte Whitner offering up nothing but praise for Gordon.

Boston.com has former Patriots defender Rob Ninkovich saying of the Gordon trade: "I think it just sends the wrong message."
