Patriots Hall of Famer Jim Nance passed away more than two decades ago, but he certainly hasn't been forgotten in his hometown of Indiana, Penn. Last week, the city dedicated a stretch of highway to him, after a year-long planning process to commemorate one of its greatest athletes.
Jim's daughter Rachel Nance Wade and his brothers Drew and Gene were in attendance. Many of his teammates from the 1961 Indiana High School football team also came out to show their support.
"I cannot think of a greater honor than having something named in your memory," Rachel said at the dedication ceremony. "Now with the naming of James Nance Memorial Highway, my father is truly home, forever."
After his years at Indiana High School, Jim went on to be an All-American at Syracuse before joining the Patriots in 1965.
