Patriots re-sign C Ryan Wendell

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced that they have re-signed unrestricted free agent center Ryan Wendell. Terms of the contract were not announced.

Wendell, 28, originally joined New England as a rookie free agent out of Fresno State in 2008. The 6-foot-2, 300-pounder spent his first season on the New England practice squad in 2008 and the majority of the 2009 season on the practice squad before earning a full-time roster spot in 2010. He has been the starting center for the last two seasons. Wendell has played in 63 games with 37 starts in the regular season and has played in nine postseason games with four starts. He played a league-high of 1,249 snaps in 2012 on both offense and on special teams.
