Patriots sign tight end Chris Eitzmann to practice squad; release defensive lineman Carl Bradley

FOXBORO, Mass. - The New England Patriots re-signed tight end Chris Eitzmann (pronounced ITES-man) to the practice squad today. To make room on the practice squad for Eitzmann, the Patriots waived defensive lineman Carl Bradley.
Eitznamm, 23, originally signed with the Patriots as a rookie free agent on April 19, 2000 and played in four games this preseason. The 6-foot-5-inch, 255 pound tight end finished his collegiate career at Harvard with 45 receptions for 572 yards including a career-high of 19 catches his senior year. He was waived on Aug. 27, when the Patriots reduced their roster to 53 players. The Green Bay Packers claimed him off waivers on Aug. 28 and he was inactive for their regular season opener against the New York Jets. He was waived by the Packers on Sept. 7.
