For Nate and co-founders Josh Trautwein and Annika Morgan, having the support of his Patriots teammates is something special.

"I'm very honored. I know what they go through. I know it was a tough week, and I know we have tough weeks ahead of us, but they came here because they believe in community," Nate said. "They believe in their teammates, and it means the world that they came here to support this and me."

Devin said it is in the Patriots nature to be there for each other.

"That's the cool thing about this team, guys just coming out. We all have different passions, different things we want to get involved in, and guys just come out and support," Devin said. 

The event aimed to raise money and awareness for Fresh Truck's mission and mobile markets. The organization uses renovated school busses to drive its markets into "food deserts" in Boston, and a new mobile market was unveiled at Coppersmith and available for tours. 

Josh said the idea to create mobile markets with affordable healthy foods came to him when he saw firsthand how difficult it can be for families to eat nutritious foods when they don't have access to them.

"I was working at a health center in Charlestown at the same time the only grocery store in the neighborhood disappeared. A big part of my job was coordinating nutrition education for families," Josh said. "I saw up close how hard it was for families to shop for healthy foods when the grocery store went away."

While Nate's teammates wanted to attend the event as a show of support, they also understood the impact Fresh Truck has made in the community. 

"The unfortunate side of [eating healthy] is that the healthy stuff seems to be overpriced," Rob said. "If you go to buy organic everything, it's crazy expensive. I think it's awesome that Fresh Truck is not only expanding it to everybody, but it's good for kids, it's good for adults, older adults who are just trying to live a healthy lifestyle. The food that you eat is everything."

A light drizzle fell in Boston on Monday night, but it didn't stop Patriots players from mingling on the rooftop patio at Coppersmith to support a good cause -- one that a teammate is passionate about.

Fresh Truck is an organization dedicated to bringing healthy, affordable food options to areas of Boston with limited access to such groceries with mobile markets, and on Monday night, it hosted its first Freshest in Boston fundraising event. Nate Solder is the longest serving board member, and when he asked his teammates to come out and support the Freshest in Boston event, they showed up. 

Devin McCourty, David Andrews, Jimmy Garoppolo, Shaq Mason, Cameron Fleming and former teammate Rob Ninkovich all stopped by the Fresh Truck's fundraiser to help the cause and show support for Nate.                   

That idea is what Fresh Truck was founded on and why Nate got involved in the first place. Now in its fourth year, Fresh Truck has continued to grow and to serve more communities and more families in need. 

"I am genuinely excited because I saw Fresh Truck start from the ground up. Annika and Josh, they put so much work into it," Nate said. "I sit on the fringes and I cheer them on and do the best I can, but the group that I get to support here and the things that they are doing in our communities are profound. I'm excited to be a part of that."
