FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Under the lights of Gillette Stadium, and behind an NFL-record setting performance by Tom Brady, the Patriots claimed a 38-24 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday Night Football. The game was also a win in local TV ratings, as the FOX broadcast was the most-watched event of the week in the Boston television market.
Locally, the game delivered a 33.2 household rating and 54 market share, averaging more than 1.1 million viewers. This marked a 1 percent increase over last year's Week 5 matchup, also a Thursday Night Football game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Nationally, the Patriots-Colts broadcast ratings showed a 3 percent increase over the 2017 Thursday Night Football average.
The Patriots will play their third primetime game of the season and third straight home game next week when they host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is slated for 8:20 p.m. on NBC. The nationally-broadcast game will be called by Al Michaels, with Cris Collinsworth providing color commentary and Michelle Tafoya working the sidelines.
