Red Sox celebrate Super Bowl champion Patriots at opening day

Last time sports fans in Boston got to see Tom Brady and the Patriots' four Lombardi Trophies, they were bundled up and perched on mounds of snow. On Monday afternoon, it was an entirely different story, with everyone wearing T-shirts and basking in the long-overdue spring sunshine as the Patriots quarterback, joined by Bill Belichick and Robert and Jonathan Kraft, took the field at Fenway Park for Red Sox opening day ceremonies.

While U2's "Beautiful Day" so appropriately played over the loud speaker, the four stepped out from behind the enormous American flag draped along the Green Monster, each carrying one of the team's Lombardi Trophies. They received a rapturous applause from the packed ballpark as they made their way toward the pitcher's mound.

Tom then put his famous arm to good use. After receiving a ball from Henry Richard, the older brother of Boston Marathon bombing victim, Martin Richard, Tom threw out the first pitch, with David Ortiz serving as catcher. The two sports icons then posed for photos alongside the Richard family, Boston Mayor Mar Walsh and Pete Frates, whom the Red Sox honored in a touching ceremony before the game.

Before leaving Fenway Park, Tom also hooked up with former All-Star pitcher Pedro Martinez for an impromptu batting practice. Despite his impressive swing, Tom's choice of fashion for the day – jeans and a white T-shirt with a giant '5' on it – suggested he was already looking forward to getting back on the gridiron and working toward another championship with his Patriots teammates.

Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft, President Jonathan Kraft, Head Coach Bill Belichick and QB Tom Brady were honored as Super Bowl Champions during Red Sox Opening Day at Fenway Park on Monday, April 13, 2015.
