While most of Patriots Nation was awaiting news on Darrelle Revis, New England did some work on the other side of the ball by reportedly signing free agent wide receiver Brandon Gibson.
According to ESPNBoston.com the deal is a one-year pact for $825,000.
Gibson is a veteran of six NFL seasons, including four years with the Rams and the last two with the Dolphins. The 6-0, 210-pound target has 233 career catches and 13 touchdowns.
He's had 29 or more catches in each of his six seasons, that low coming last year in Miami. His best season came in St. Louis in 2012 when he caught 51 balls for 691 yards (13.5 avg.) with five touchdowns.
Gibson played one season under Josh McDaniels when the current Patriots offensive coordinator served in the same role with the Rams in 2011.
Gibson originally entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick with the Eagles out of Washington State, where he played both football and basketball.
