FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The results of the second annual Sports Business Journal / Sports Business Daily Reader Survey are in, and Patriots Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft has been named "most effective owner" for the second consecutive year.
Kraft received the distinction after earning 40.9 percent of the total votes in the category, a year after being named "most effective owner" in the first SBJ/SBD poll, coming off two consecutive Patriots Super Bowl victories. This year's second place finisher, Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney, received 10.2 percent of the votes. Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones finished third with 8.9 percent of the votes.
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, named the "NFL's most marketable player" in the survey last year, finished second in that category this year, behind Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning.
Sports Business Journal published the survey results in their November 27 issue, which reached news stands this week.
